Top 10 Things LOWERING Your Testosterone Level

May 26, 2023
If your testosterone is low or suboptimal, you will not feel as good, look as good, and not get as much joy out of life. That being said, I will review the top 10 biggest testosterone killers to help you boost that amazing male hormone, testosterone.

Reasons for suboptimal testosterone levels

  1. Age. Unfortunately, after age 30, a man’s testosterone level drops about 1% each year. Getting older decreases testosterone levels, but the good news is if you modify your lifestyle, living healthier and cleaner, you can facilitate healthy testosterone production.
  2. Overweight. If you’re obese or even carrying excessive body fat in your midsection, testosterone levels can be lower.
  3. Sleep. Your body fat will typically rise if you’re not getting enough sleep. You also will not feel as good and will be at an increased risk of heart attack and heart disease. Stress can also rise because of less sleep. Set yourself up for sleep success by setting a bedtime, not staying up too late, not looking at your phone in bed, and sleeping in a 65° room.
  4. Exercise. Make sure you work out to get your testosterone at peak level. By not moving, you will not be as healthy, and your testosterone level will be lower. When you exercise by lifting heavy, the release of free testosterone will be facilitated.
  5. Consumption. What goes in your mouth can kill testosterone. Alcohol, in general, is not suitable for testosterone production, but beer, specifically the hops, is a phytoestrogen. Beer can increase estrogen and decrease testosterone. Also, cigarettes and weed will reduce testosterone, and eating a lot of sugar will lower testosterone. EDCs in plastic bottles and grooming products also interfere with testosterone. EDCs are endocrine-disrupting chemicals, which big culprits are BPA, sulfates, and parabens. Opt for healthier products such as Pete & Pedro’s deodorant, powders, and bar soap.
  6. Leanness. If you are too lean, testosterone can be low. This includes people who crash diet, are super shredded, or have an eating disorder.
  7. Spanking the monkey. This does not lower testosterone levels. There’s a lot of fake news out there being spread by idiots.
  8. Nutrients. Micronutrients such as zinc, magnesium, and vitamin D are critical for testosterone production.
  9. Soy. Soy is a phytoestrogen, and eating lots of tofu and soybeans can harm your testosterone level.
  10. Drugs. Testosterone performance-enhancing drugs or TRT that you do not need will cause your testicles not to function properly. This misfunctioning may be lifelong, even after quitting. Instead, work hard consistently and don’t believe the hype. Do not believe idiots who are taking this stuff they don’t need.
