Why we must redefine success ASAP

May 3, 2025

Success. It’s one of those words that gets thrown around a lot, but ask ten different guys what it means and you’ll get ten different answers.

For years, society tried to shove a cookie-cutter version of success down our throats—make a lot of money, have a fancy car, marry the perfect woman, and retire early. But let’s get real. In 2025, that’s not just outdated—it’s toxic if you let it define you. As men, we’ve got to rewrite that narrative and define success on our terms.

For me, success has very little to do with your bank account and everything to do with how you feel when you look in the mirror. Are you proud of the man you see? Do you respect him? Because if you don’t have self-respect, you’ve got nothing. You can be making millions and still feel like garbage if you know you’re not living up to your potential deep down. That’s the first truth I want to drop: success starts with you, not your job title, net worth, or follower count.

WHAT LIGHTS ME UP?

In today’s environment, a successful man is confident and kind. You don’t need to be an alpha jerk to get respect anymore. That might have worked in the past, but today? Emotional intelligence wins. A man who’s strong enough to lead but humble enough to listen—that’s the guy people want to follow. Success today means being self-aware, emotionally grounded, and authentically you.

Let’s talk about purpose. Too many guys drift through life on autopilot, doing what they think they’re supposed to do. Wake up, go to work, come home, watch TV, repeat. But real success? That comes from living intentionally. Ask yourself, “What lights me up? What would I do even if I weren’t getting paid?” You feel truly successful when you align your daily actions with your mission.

Health is non-negotiable. I don’t care how big your business is or how many girls you’re dating—if you’re overweight, tired, and out of shape, you’re not operating at 100%. A successful man in today’s world treats his body like a high-performance machine. You hit the gym, eat clean, dress well, and sleep enough. Not because it’s about vanity, but because it’s about discipline. Your body is your temple—and your billboard.

BUILD STRONG BROTHERHOODS

Relationships matter. And I’m not just talking about romantic ones. Success today means surrounding yourself with people who push, inspire, and hold you accountable. The “lone wolf” thing? That’s done. A truly successful man builds strong brotherhoods, mentors others, and seeks out mentors for himself — support. You don’t grow in a vacuum—you grow in community.

Financial independence is still important, but not in the way you think. It’s not about flexing on Instagram—it’s about freedom. Freedom to walk away from a toxic job. Freedom to help your family. Freedom to invest in yourself. A successful man doesn’t have to be rich, but he does need to be smart with his money. Budget, invest, and live below your means—not to impress, but to empower.

I’ve built my career around style because how you present yourself matters. Style isn’t about designer labels—it’s about sending the right message to the world. It’s about confidence, attention to detail, and self-respect. A man who cares about how he looks shows the world he cares about.

YOU HAVE TO BE GRITTY

So yeah, style still counts. I’ll die on this hill. How you present yourself to the world says a lot about how you feel about yourself. A successful man takes pride in his appearance, not for others, but for himself. He knows that dressing sharp is a tool. It’s a mindset. When you look good, you feel good—and when you feel good, you show up like a man on a mission.

Success is also about resilience. Life’s going to knock you down. That’s not a maybe—it’s a guarantee. The successful man isn’t the one who never falls; it’s the one who gets up, learns from it, and comes back stronger. You’ve got to be gritty. You’ve got to be relentless. And most of all, you’ve got to believe in yourself even when no one else does.

Most importantly, success means balance. You can’t be obsessed with work and neglect your health. You can’t chase aesthetics and forget emotional growth. You can’t be a great provider and a terrible partner. Being a well-rounded man—strong, kind, disciplined, and self-aware—is the real flex in today’s world.

BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF YOU

Finally, success in today’s world means being a man of integrity — a man of substance. Say what you mean. Do what you say. Own your mistakes. Be the kind of man people trust—not because you’re perfect, but because you’re real. Authenticity is the new currency. If you’re faking it, people will see right through you. But if you’re living it, success will follow.

So, what does success mean for a man in 2025? It means being strong, but soft where it counts. At the end of the day, success for a man in today’s environment isn’t about comparing, competing, or conforming. It’s about becoming the best version of you. Build a life that feels good on the inside, not one that just looks good on the outside. That’s the Alpha way.
