Is it just me, or does everybody online seem like they’re trying to be like Yoda these days? Like everyone, including your aunt, is posting all these inspirational quotes and telling you how to live your life. This got me thinking about how there was advice I wish I had gotten when I was your age. Here it is.
Alpha Yoda Advice
- Exercise. Exercise every single day. This is non-optional.
- Eat better. If your diet is full of crap, your body will become crap.
- Don’t ever smoke. This includes cigarettes and weed. Neither is good.
- Stop drinking alcohol. I wasted so much time getting drunk and doing stupid crap due to drinking.
- Friends are contagious. If you’re hanging out with losers that aren’t going anywhere, you’re probably doing self-destructive things too.
- Stand up for the little guy. We are all the little guys at some point.
- Do not do what is easy, do what is right. If other people try to get you to do something you know isn’t good, don’t do it.
- Listen to your gut. A lot of times, it will point you in the right direction. But verify it with facts.
- Stop listening to the news. It will just depress you.
- Never stop learning about the world, other people, and yourself.
- Don’t drive like an asshole.
- Keep your car clean, and keep your house clean. If you live in clutter, you cannot be productive.
- Don’t act like a victim. You’re not a victim; you’re strong. Yes, bad things happen to good people.
- Deal with your shit. Sit down all the baggage you’re carrying. You can’t go through life carrying all this weight and negativity.
- Don’t focus on things you cannot change. You can’t change other people, but you can change yourself and your mindset.
- Learn to forgive yourself. It will reduce the risk of you feeling like a failure.
- Get over your fear of failure ASAP. Failure is part of the equation and has to happen if you’re going to be successful.
- Hard work beats talent. Develop an incredible work ethic.
- Don’t focus on being cool. Focus on being kind and understand that good people are better than pretty people.
- Stop spending so much time on social media. You’re feeding your brain junk.
- Choose how to invest your time. Time is your most valuable resource, and you must choose how to wisely invest it daily.
- Your health is your most valuable asset. Nurture and protect it.
- Be a man of your word and character. Have morals and principles. Do not compromise yours.
- Nobody’s perfect. If you do something wrong, apologize.
- Everybody deserves respect. Treat them that way.
- Develop a budget. And then stick to it. Debt will rob you of your joy.
- Don’t ever lie or cheat or steal ever. Karma is real, and it will come back to bite you in the ass.
- Treat people well, and don’t be a dick.
- Say less and listen more.
- Smile!
- Give people compliments every day.
- Your parents want the best for you. Even though it may not seem that way, they are trying to protect and lead you in the right direction. It doesn’t mean you must follow what they want because this is your life and you can choose (including your career and who you love).
- Never let anybody tell you who to love.
- Make yourself happy. There’s only one person in this world that you need to worry about making happy, and that is you. Money will not buy you happiness. Find what makes you happy and feel good in your soul, and do that as much as possible.
- Life is short! Call your parents and grandparents. Spend more time with the people that you love.
