If somebody tells you you look tired, this is code for old and unattractive. This is not good. That said, I want to cover a few mistakes that make men look tired, even if they’re not.
- Yellow and discolored teeth. Regardless of the quantity or quality of teeth, if they’re white, they look better. Crest Strips are affordable and fast. Wear them for about an hour a day for a few days, and your teeth are dazzling white.
- White skin. Pale and pasty skin makes you look tired. You can get a golden glow in the summertime, but tanning can ultimately make you look older and tired, too. I recommend a tinted moisturizer or a self-tanner. If you already have darker skin, you don’t have to worry about this.
- Wearing the wrong colors. Wearing the wrong colors can wash you out and make you look tired. If somebody compliments the color you’re wearing, remember it and continue to wear it. As a rule of thumb, avoid whites if you’re blonde with white skin. Also, avoid super bright colors. Go for muted and softer shades. You can wear bright and loud colors with a darker complexion.
- Old skin. As you age, your skin loses elasticity because of a loss of collagen. Your skin can start to sag, which can make you look tired. For a collagen boost, take a collagen supplement, which you can put into your coffee, water, or protein drink once daily.
- Your eyes. If your eyebrows are big and bushy, your eyes will look heavier and more tired. Give your eyebrows a bit of shape and clean them up underneath to brighten them. Your upper eyelid skin can also make you look tired. You can use a caffeinated eye cream or roller to tighten the skin around your eye. Surgery is also an option.
- Dark circles and puffiness. Under-eye circles and puffiness can make you look tired. First, determine why this is happening, as it could be allergies or something else, such as genetics. You can use cold spoons that have been pulled out of the freezer. Put them on the puffiness for 10 minutes, which will help contract blood vessels and push some of the subcutaneous water out of your eyes, making them look better. Cold compresses and ice rollers work, too, which you can find on Amazon.
- Not drinking enough water. Consume enough water daily to flush toxins and keep your skin hydrated.
- Not taking care of your skin. Correct dry, old, wrinkly, ashy skin with a quality skincare routine. Tiege Hanley has all the core skincare products, including an AM moisturizer, PM moisturizer, face wash, and exfoliating scrub.
- Smoking. It makes you look tired & old and jacks up your teeth. It’s not a sexy look. It also makes your breath stink.
- Bad diet. If you’re eating food that will give you man boobs and other bad things, you’ll look not only tired but sloppy. Your face will retain water, making you look puffy and unrested. Consume quality carbohydrates & lean proteins, and drink water as discussed earlier. Processed foods will leave your skin oily, you’ll probably get blackheads, and you won’t feel as good.
- Not exercising. When you’re not sweating, working out, or lifting heavy things, your body doesn’t feel as good or look as good. Working out will make you feel fresh and alive, and your skin will be healthier. Exercising also gets rid of toxins.
- Bad posture. Poor posture has a dramatic effect on how we’re perceived. If you have bad posture (hunched, not walking with confidence, shoulders & chest not back, head not up), you don’t look confident or rested. Stand up and walk with purpose and presence.
