How do you respond to making difficult choices in life or when life throws you a curveball? Are you stuck in a tough spot and don’t know how to get out?
Choices and chances create changes. You must make choices and take chances, or your life won’t change. Many people don’t adhere to this thinking and stay stagnant or stuck in a situation. Sure, we can feel stuck or like we don’t have a choice, but the power is in each of us to make a change for the better—to get the wheels in motion.
Fear of the unknown and change prevents us from overcoming that inertia. We must not allow fear to rule our lives and stop bemoaning change. We all can make a choice and take a chance to create the changes we need. Don’t be afraid.
Only you can decide to make changes in your life. You are the master of your destiny, but sometimes you have to get sick and tired of being sick and tired to throw fear out the window and jump into the unknown. You are the only one who can create the life you deserve by creating incremental success daily.
Change can be scary as we find comfort in the habits we’ve created. We find solace in being creatures of habit. But to grow, we have to evolve (aka change), which positive changes can spark incredible journeys and open us to a world of new experiences, successes, and life satisfaction.
We often bitch and moan about our lives. Some of us get into a destructive habit, complaining constantly and habitually seeing the negatives in life. We aren’t taking any steps to stop the negative thinking cycle, and we make excuses as to why we haven’t done anything to improve our lives. We may even feel as if we don’t have any choices or chances – that we’ve been just dealt a crappy hand.
We make about 35K choices a day! We take some, leave some, disregard some, and embrace some. Some are simple – like what to eat for breakfast or wear to work. But some are more complicated, like buying a new car or deciding on a side hustle. Also, some choices don’t affect us but rather others around us. Some choices will change your life, including who you love, who you spend your life with, how you work through your past, what you do for a living, how you care for your health, and what kind of man you are and want to be.
Life is full of choices and chances. We have to accept responsibility for our lives and take control. Create the life you dream of and rise above what you think is holding you back or holding you down. We are all faced with challenges we haven’t chosen, but we all have a choice in how we react to them.
Your life will remain exactly how it is if you keep the frame of mind that you have no choice over your life. If you feel powerless over your life, you will stay that way. But if you realize that this is your life and you have the power to make choices and take chances, you will experience change. Remove blaming outside forces on your situation and pull from inside yourself to take control. Toss out the victim mentality and choose a positive, powerful mentality. F^ck the fear.
Regardless of how sh!tty life seems, you have a choice. Every single day, you have the opportunity to take chances to change your life. If you choose to bed rot, that is your choice. But wonder if you put down those potato chips, get out of bed, and open up your life to chances. It’s a choice that creates the opportunity for things to happen and to change your situation that you wouldn’t have otherwise.
We must make a choice to take a chance, and taking chances doesn’t always result in a solid result. However, if we dare to take that chance, we become better at taking chances, making choices, and creating change. Work that muscle because life is all about the unexpected, perspective, and embracing what life has to offer. That’s where we meet change.
This new generation seems to fear change and, as a result, views it as negative. Many times, change isn’t our choice, but it is an integral part of life. The most important parts of life are not things such as money or stuff—we can’t take that with us when we pass anyway—but happiness and health are paramount.
Make choices and take chances to boost your happiness and health. Realize that nothing great was ever accomplished because it was easy. The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. Step outside of your comfort zone and take a shot. Sometimes, it won’t work out, but reinventing yourself can lead to bigger and better things.
You have a choice to make. Are you going to live boldly and courageously, or are you going to play it safe? If you expect to live an extraordinary life, you have to be willing to push down fear and take chances.
