10 Lessons Most Men Learn TOO Late in Life

July 13, 2023
I started posting YouTube videos back in 2008. I have published thousands, but two really come to mind when I think about the videos I am most of. One is My Darkest Days, and the other is The Last Alpha M. Today’s video is one I hope will be another I can look back on and be proud of. I want this video to be one of those that makes a difference. So, here it is, life lessons that men learn too late.

The ten keys to unlock the ability to live free + take chances

  1. People don’t give a sh!t about you. I’m not saying this in a negative way or to be a dick. But one of the things that holds us back is a fear of what other people are thinking of us. You may think others are judging you or thinking this-or-that about you. But in reality, they are worried about themselves and their insecurities and issues. The sooner you understand this and realize that you don’t need to worry about their opinion, the sooner you’ll be free and able to take chances.
  2. Failure is part of the equation. Get used to failure; it will happen. If you ever expect to be incredible, you must understand that it’s never too late to go after your dreams because it’s your life. Step to the plate and swing your bat.
  3. Vulnerability is strength. Vulnerability is something that strong men do, and weak men don’t. Weak men keep up a wall and try to be perfect. They tried never to show emotion or be vulnerable. Strong men allow other people in, which fosters deeper bonds and connections.
  4. Value quality relationships over quantity. Authenticity matters. Foster deep bonds and connections by being truly authentic. Do what you say you’ll do, and don’t try to be something you’re not.
  5. Health and self-care are king. If you’re not healthy, then nothing else really matters. You can’t buy health. Protect your health like your life depends on it. Exercise daily, don’t drink in excess, don’t smoke weed or cigarettes, don’t do drugs, don’t sleep around, don’t be self-destructive, and don’t self-sabotage. Ensure you’re grooming is part of how you care for yourself, as you want to look good when you age. Tiege Hanley is critical to starting early and preventative maintenance.
  6. Good people are better than pretty people. Often in society, we give pretty people a pass and allow them to act poorly or do terrible things. Surround yourself with good, kind, empathetic people who treat people with kindness and empathy. Empathy is one of the most powerful, impactful qualities.
  7. Learn emotional intelligence. Being able to understand and empathize with others is powerful. Get in the habit of being kind and sharing in what others are going through. When you do kind things for others, your self-esteem is boosted, which then boosts your mood. You’ll feel better about yourself.
  8. Credit scores matter. You need to protect your financial health, which includes your credit score. Your credit score directly impacts your ability to borrow money at an affordable rate. Also, don’t buy it if you can’t afford it (aka, if you’re using credit, you can’t afford it). Credit is lending money to pay back with interest, and the interest makes them rich in the process.
You’ll never be financially free if you continue to borrow on credit.
  9. Karma is real. Bad decisions like doing inappropriate things, treating people poorly, and cheating on your wife or girlfriend will catch up. You can’t outrun your past. No matter how fast you run, it catches up eventually. So, do the hard work now. Do the hard work you need to do to forgive other people or get over a bad situation in your past. The sooner you do this, the sooner you understand and learn that you deserve happiness. You have to forgive some people, you have to have hard conversations, and you have to forgive yourself for making mistakes in the past. You must do these steps before you can truly be happy.
  10. It will pass. You need to learn this lesson because it will pass regardless of how you feel now. Good or bad, it will pass. Just give it enough time.
