The shirts I’m talking about in today’s video, unfortunately, have been scientifically proven to reduce your attraction level significantly.
Some shirts make men look worse, even if the shirt is usually attractive — here’s why.
Shirts that reduce men’s attraction levels
- Too tight — shirts like a three-button Henley should be snug in the chest only, not skin-tight.
- Funny graphic tees — not funny and look immature. They’re like wearing ‘birth control’
- Super deep v-necks — crew necks are better for t-shirts and sweaters. V-neck sweaters are better layered over polo or button-up
- Baggy and boxy shirts — these make you look like you have a muffin top (an exploded can of biscuits around your waist), which is sloppy looking
- Stretched buttons — this makes you look fat
- Improper length — dress shirts are not meant to be worn untucked. Any shirt that covers 2/3 of your crotch (or more), it’s too long. Too short looks like Britney Spears.
- Under Armour—it’s unflattering, overly tight, and outdated. There are better options.
- Homemade cut-off tanks — one of the worst a dude can wear because of chest fat. They also make your shoulders look narrower and your waist look boxy. No one looks good in them.
- Wife beaters (guinea tanks) — these are culturally nostalgic but not stylish for wearing out. My $4 H&M tank example doesn’t have exaggerated armholes and isn’t too tight; it’s great to wear alone or layer (like with a bomber jacket).
- Little boy striped polos — you’ll look youthful in a bad way (go solid). You also don’t want stretch, boxiness, or a company logo. These are instant losses of sex appeal (especially paired with an Apple Watch).
- Any shirts with pit stains — instant thumbs down
- Oversized t-shirts — big and baggy looks sloppy, along with making your arms look small, and your body look too long. The length should not go past the croch; mid-arm sleeves should show the triceps; it should not be too tight in the body; and it should have a crew neck with no pocket.
- Bacon collar t-shirts — stretched-out, wavy collars look sloppy and childish.
- Shiny button-up shirts—these always look bad and make you look stupid. They draw the wrong kind of attention.
- Bulky sweaters — they’ll make you look chubby, and they don’t drape well. They’re even worse when combined with stripes or having an oversized cut.
