Today, we’re talking about one of my favorite subjects on planet Earth — watches. And I am not talking crazy, sell-your-kidney watches. I’m talking seven absolute beasts from my personal collection, all under $100.
These are not sponsored, and I haven’t received freebies. These are watches I bought with my own money because I love them. And here’s the truth: you do NOT need to spend a fortune to build a badass watch collection to look stylish and sophisticated. Style isn’t about price — it’s about taste.
You can rotate pieces to match the vibe. Go field watch one day, vintage gold the next, and rugged G-Shock on the weekend. Watches are one of the easiest ways to instantly elevate your look.
And yes, I apologize in advance if you get bitten by the watch bug. It can get expensive. But as you just saw? It doesn’t have to. With this list, I started with the cheapest and worked my way up, and honestly? Every single one of these, in my opinion, is cooler than an Apple Watch. Apple Watches are fine, but these have personality. They’ve got soul and style.
1. Casio F91W
The OG Casio is simple, basic, and around $20. It’s retro, functional, and sexy in that nerdy old-school way. These have tons of features & color options and are perfect for the gym, beach, travel, or just kicking around. It screams vintage authenticity and is the type of watch a young Aaron first rocked — and you cannot go wrong with it.
2. Timex Expedition Scout
At about $35, this might be the best bang-for-buck watch on the planet, and it’s the perfect size, with a matte-black 40mm case and an army-green NATO strap. It exudes masculine field watch vibes, as it’s rugged, vintage-inspired, and just badass. It tells the time & date and lights up with Indiglo — done simply, manly, and clean.
3. Timex Weekender
Around $45, and one of my all-time favorites: it features a silver case, a black face, and a black strap — classic. It gives off that old-money, Nantucket summer vibe. It’s light, clean, and stylish without trying too hard. When I see a guy wearing a Weekender, I know he gets it — affordable elegance.
4. Timex T80 44mm
I LOVE this watch. Also, about $45, it’s available in gold or silver with a stretchy band and a retro digital face. It feels vintage, slightly dressy, and intentionally low-key. The smaller case and classic proportions are just cool. When a guy rocks this, it tells me he understands style and doesn’t take himself too seriously.
5. Casio A168WG
This piece is around $85 and is all gold. It has jubilee-style bracelet vibes with a small case and a vintage aesthetic. This watch has insane charm, being flashy without being obnoxious. I wear it slightly loose for that relaxed old-school feel. When you see somebody rocking this, you know they’re a watch guy.
6. Swatch New Gent
At about $90, this watch boasts a matte-black rubber strap, a clean black case, white indices, and day & date displays. Swatch was the gateway drug for a lot of us growing up, and this one is simple, sleek, and super stylish. When I see someone in a Swatch, I know they understand design and history.
7. Casio G-Shock DW5600
Right at $99, the murdered-out G-Shock is big. chunky, rugged, and masculine. It’s a workhorse, perfect for workouts, travel, and everyday use. Billionaires, celebrities, and politicians all rock G-Shocks. Why? Because they’re functional, iconic, and unapologetically tough.
